Light and feminine Edwardian 14k gold cut work brooch set with amethyst and pearls. The diamond-shaped brooch is embellished with graceful open work curving lines and delicate leaves. An amethyst is bezel set at the center of the brooch, flanked by two creamy white pearls. A rich bloom covers the gold surface of the piece. Bloom is an alluring iridescent effect that occasionally develops on antique gold. The brooch attaches with a security clasp. Circa 1900.
